Racquetball Weekend

This upcoming weekend I was supposed to play in a tournament, but I won’t be able to. A couple months ago I noticed that both my racquet frames were cracked, but I waited until the end of January to send them in for the warranty replacements. Well, the warranty replacements won’t be here till Friday or Monday, so that means I can’t play. I’ve missed three or four tournaments so far this winter, not real thrilled about it, but oh well.

Instead, I’m going to go to the tournament and take some pictures. The 2006 Junior National Championships are going to be in Lansing this year, and I’m helping the planning committee. So, one thing I’m going to be doing is developing a “game-day” brochure, and in that will be pictures of the venue and various locations around Lansing. Should be a good time….

Tournament Schedule

I got an e-mail a couple weeks ago about the tournament schedule for the upcoming season. I’ll be participating in nearly all of them, since most are within an hour of my place. The list of tournaments can be seen at MichiganRacquetball.net.

Obviously, I won’t be competing in the last event (Junior Nationals), but I’ll probably head up to the site for a visit. It’s great to watch them play. As for the tournaments I’ll be playing at, I’m going to try and play in every Detroit area tournament, the ones around Flint (Davison and Grand Blanc), and the ones in Lansing. I’ll also be trying to make it to two or three of the tournaments in Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and Kalamazoo.

month of march

Ok, so the month of March was pretty cool. I spent the weekend of the 3/11 in Nashville, and did some really cool things there. Got to visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, hang around the ‘Honky Tonk’ area of downtown, and see my cousin. We went to breakfast on Sunday at this place called ‘The Pancake Pantry’….unbelieveable! That place had the best pancakes that I’ve ever had. Amazing…

What else happened….nothing real exciting. I’m leaving on a cruise in a few days. We are going to hit up Grand Cayman and Cozumel…it will be a good time. I’m going tanning all week this week, so hopefully I won’t get sunburned.

The state championship tournament is this coming weekend too. I haven’t been playing as much as I should, but I am going to hit around on Wednesday, and then that will have to do before the tournament. I’ve been pretty competative all year, so maybe I’ll be able to do alright in the tournament.

That’s about it. Been a long time since the last entry, but that’s what happens when I’m busy. Maybe I’ll have to make it more of a habit….ttyl
