PocketDigg

A new (at least to me) site that I’m browsing, digg.com, now has a mobile version. And where did I find it? Through a link to this article by David Ciccone, located of course on digg.com. For those interested in the site, it’s pocketdigg.com.

creativity

Found a great resource for techniques to spark creativity, and a site to read more often in lifehack.org. I think I’ll be reviewing that site on a relatively frequent basis….

AIM Fight!

Who’s up for it? Found this site called AIM Fight today, thanks to a link from waxy.org. My current score is 3170. Some of my friends have higher scores, while others have lower. It’s a pretty cool way to see how connected you are in the AIM world compared to your friends.

rebateweb

My buddy Josh recently bought a domain, and it looks like he’s got a site up of sorts. Some random photos of him and his wife (boy, feels weird writing that) for now, but I’m sure he’ll get more stuff up in time. Check it out at rebateweb.net.

cpa exam

For those that do not know, I found out that I passed the CPA examination about 3 weeks ago. Since then, my life has been one big party, although I think it will calm down in the coming weeks. When I found out, I was in the middle of the Great Hall at the Library of Congress. Such was my suprise and elation, I yelled and screamed right there in happiness. :-D

The rest of the process is relatively easy. I have to file some forms with the State of Michigan, get a few clients to sign forms saying I performed work for them, and have my firm send confirmation of my experience. Oh, and pay some fees.

I should be fully licensed as a CPA within a couple short months. Thus comes the concluding chapter of a long process in the beginning of my career.

work much?

I found the following graphic while browsing around waxy.org. Very funny, i sometimes feel the same way.

Love your job?

Update: I originally put the image directly on the front page, but changed my mind since it’s rather graphic, even for a cartoon. So, now it’s a link. Don’t say I didn’t warn you….

button maker

Ok, so I just spent some time tonight putting up the link icons/buttons in the sidebar. Using Photoshop, I created the one utilized for Simple PHP Gallery. Unbeknownst to me, even after seeing the page containing the Wordpress link icons/buttons, there is a utility that can do just that! Oh well, at least I created something in Photoshop for the first time in a long time.

more updating

Ok, so I worked on the site quite a bit today/tonight, and have the following credits to address:

Alan at geekandproud.net for the following graphics:

  • PHP Powered
  • MySQL Powered

The developers at Wordpress for the following graphic:

Powered by Wordpress

The developers at RSS Specifications for the following graphic:

RSS

The developers at SpreadFireFox for the following graphics:

  • Get FireFox!
  • Get Thunderbird!

I also installed Simple PHP Gallery, and decided that I would create a graphic for that too:

Simple PHP Gallery

I haven’t completely uploaded any pictures or albums, but I’m pretty excited to start using it. It’s pretty easy to install, and I was able to make some edits to the CSS for helping the colors and fonts blend more with my Wordpress template.

That was quite a bit of editing today. Maybe a drink is in order….

got wood?

This guy made a cool case mod for his iPod. It looks like he tried to make the back-plate, but it was too difficult and he had to utilize the original back-plate. Still, it looks pretty nice…

google video

Seeing as I’ve been out of the loop on techy things for a while, I didn’t know about Google Video. Turns out, there are people posting illegal movies on the site. In light of the recent decision by the Supreme Court, I wonder how long this will hold up?

ladder theory

Last couple nights were spent at the bar with friends from work. Last night was kinda crazy, and I definately had a good time. I was discussing a site I had recently re-discovered with friends. The site details an explanation about girls and guys, and it’s called the Ladder Theory. It’s quite good, and I recommend reading it, if for nothing more than a cheap laugh.
