Well, I’m in Chicago at my buddy Mike’s apartment. We went out last night, and I drank a little too much. This was probably the result of having free drinks from 9:00 - 11:00 for only $15. I actually didn’t even drink anything other than the “free” drinks. In total, I only spent like $45. This included out cab ride there, shots, the $15 for all-you-can drink, and a couple tips.

I don’t know what we’re going to do tonight. I’m not much for going out again, but we’ll see. I would like to leave here around 10:00 tomorrow morning. That way I can get back home and accomplish some things for the weekend.

Hmmmm…maybe i’ll get to work on the new site this week. I don’t have much going on, and I think that should be a good goal. Gotta learn some more about CSS and just go to work on it.

Lisa is getting back this coming weekend. I am really excited to see her, and can’t wait. She might call tomorrow, which would be nice. I think she’s in Venice now, so her only stop left is Paris.

Today is the golf outing for my group at work. We’re going to Fox Hills, which is over in Plymouth. I got up WAY to early for this thing, since we don’t tee off until 10:00. We get to charge to whole day to a non-vaction code, so it’s basically a free day off. woo hoo!

I sent Lisa a telegram earlier this week when she was in Florence. She called me the night she got it and thanked me. I was able to talk to her for almost an hour a couple days prior, so we didn’t talk for too long when she called about the telegram. She is going to get back in a week, and I just can’t wait to see her again. I think this next week or so is going to go slow, but really fly by because I’m going to be just happy and looking forward to when I get to see her.

I bought a dining room table and chairs on Tuesday also. I was staying in Lansing at the time, so I picked it out at a place called furniture express. My mom is going to be picking it up on Monday, and then bringing it down here to my place.

Lastly, I’m going to Chicago today after golfing. My buddy mike lives there now, and I haven’t seen him in forever. So, we’re going to head out on the town and have a good time. I’m not spending the full weekend there, but coming back in the late afternoon on Sunday. That way I can have all of Memorial Day to putz around my apartment and take care of things.

It seems that the only place I’m sleeping as of late is not in my bed at the apartment. I’m currently at a hotel in Jackson, and I’m staying tonight and tomorrow night. I’ll be staying at my parents on Monday night next week, then back to staying in Jackson for Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I spend probably 40-60% of my time nights each week away from home. grrrr…

On an unrelated note, I got to talk to Lisa again tonight :-) She went out to have some drinks with the people she’s with in Europe, and called me when she got back to the hotel. We talked for about a half hour, and she’s doing really good. I’m so happy that she’s having a good time over there, and I’m even happier that I’m able to continue my life in an essentially normal way without being around. I don’t like not being able to see her for a whole month straight, but overall it’s been really good.

Next weekend is Memorial Day weekend, and plans are still up in the air. I told Mike about a month ago that I would chill with him that weekend, so I’m waiting to see what he wants to do. The Detroit Electronic Music Festival is that weekend, and we both like that stuff, so it might work out for him to come over to Detroit. However, we might go up to his cottage too. Either way, should be a good time.

I’m back in the friendly confines of CMS Energy for another couple weeks. I spent yesterday working at a client close to home, and then had to drive all the way up to the office in Bloomfield Hills to meet with my coach from work. We had to review some material for the annual review process that is coming up.

That was where the best part of my day happened. Lisa called me around 5:30, when I was right in the middle of the meeting with my coach. She figured I was out of work by then, and could talk on my drive home or whatever. Unfortunately, that was basically the one exception day that I couldn’t really talk to her. So, we only got to talk for like 5 minutes, but I was really happy she called. :-)

My next exam for the CPA is Monday, 5/24. I don’t really feel prepared for it, since I didn’t get any studying done last week or really over the weekend. I did some reading last night, and I really have to bust my ass the rest of this week and over the weekend.

I’m going to stay in Jackson for Wednesday and Thursday nights this week, so that will help with the studying. After my test Monday, I’m going to have a lot of time to do things I want to do, which is nice. My dad wants to maybe go to the harness racing track in Jackson, so that might be fun. I guess we’ll see what happens after this week. My only concentration should be on the test for the next few days.

Haven’t done much developing on the upcoming migration to WordPress, but I’m sure I’ll have time after the test is over. Hopefully I can launch it sometime during the first week of June. Back to work…

Well, this week was pretty damn tough towards the end. Everything was going great initially, and then it kinda fell apart. Don’t know why, but I think I’ll be ok. My flight leaves at 4:10, so I should be home by 6:30, which will be great.

As I think I’ve mentioned in previous posts, Brianna and Pam, a couple of Lisa’s friends, are coming over to visit this weekend. We’re going to a Tigers game on Saturday, and then some concerts Saturday night. So, it should be a good time.

I basically got no studying done this whole week. This is not good. I don’t know what it was, but I think I just got burnt out over the past couple weeks. Well, I have to get back to work, so yeah…

Like the title says, i’m in New Jersey. Saddle Brook, New Jersey to be exact. I’m out here on an engagement, and it’s going fairly well. I got a bit of work done today, but we didn’t get out here till almost 11:30 AM. The girl driving the rental car got us lost, so that wasn’t good. Flight wasn’t bad, I even got to sleep a little bit.

Yesterday was pretty damn good day. I got up around 9:30 AM, and ran some errands. Then, my buddy Josh Frazier stopped by, since he had to drop his mom off at Detroit Metro Airport. After that, my parents came over. My mom and I spent most of the afternoon driving around to all the stores looking for a kitchen/dining room table, but didn’t end up buying anything. I found one that I liked at Value City, but since I’m gone this week, I’ll deal with purchasing it some other time.

Around 5:00 PM, I got the best treat of the day…LISA CALLED!!! She was in Amsterdam at the time, and we had talked for about 25 minutes. She’s having a great time over there, but she came down with a bit of a cold. Overall, she was really happy, and I’m glad she’s having such a good time.

It’s after 5:30 here, and I can’t believe we’re not leaving yet. These two girls I’m working out here with are just plain workaholics. I don’t have my own car, so I’m basically at their mercy for when we go to work and leave work. grrrrr…..why am I still here at work! I need to get back to the hotel and study.

Oh, and in case you missed the last post, I’m going to be implementing WordPress as the weblogging software on this site sometime in the future. I have a test page set up here, so check it out. I’ve turned on comment moderation, so if you don’t see your comments right away, that’s why :-)

I’ve been slowly looking around for a weblogging software package that fits what I want to do. I’m not real sure if this is going to work out, but I’m going to give WordPress a shot. As you can tell, this is still the main site for a while, evidenced by the reference link on the default home page http://deuceweb.net.

If anyone wants to check out the test site, you can visit it at here. I don’t know how long it will take me to update it, but until I feel it’s ready for the main page I’ll keep updating this blog. Once the new one is up and running how I feel it should, I’ll make a decision to add all the old entries from this blog into that one, or keep this interface for old entries. Not sure what I’m going to do about that just yet…

Anyway, keep checking back to the new/test page to see what is going on. I have a lot to play with for now, and suggestions are welcome.

I recently read this thread on slashdot, and am thinking about getting into reading e-books. I don’t know exactly when I’ll have time for reading, but it’s worth a try. I think that if I force myself to read whenever I have a down moment (in line somewhere, waiting for something), then I could get through a fair number of books.

Does anyone who reads this (i know, very few people) have experiences with reading eBooks? If you do, I’d appreciate hearing your comments. Otherwise, I might just take a small plunge into it myself. My main concern is that it will be tough to read books in that format and actually follow what is going on. I guess the only way to find out is trying it…
